With a focus on freshness and quality, VICHI showcases a delightful range of dishes, particularly their innovative sushi and hearty ramen selections.
At VICHI, each plate is a testament to the chefs' passion for traditional culinary practices. The menu is a culinary journey that offers an impressive array of maki rolls, including the luscious Ichimaki with its combination of cucumber, leek, mango, salmon, and bonito flakes, alongside the comforting Futo Maki featuring an indulgent medley of salmon, avocado, cucumber, and tamago wrapped in delicate rice. Priced at SEK 169.00, these dishes not only present a feast for the palate but also for the eyes, with vibrant colors and thoughtful presentations.
The restaurant’s signature combination menu is a crowd-pleaser; consider indulging in the Poké Bowl, a fresh and vibrant Hawaiian-inspired dish that bursts with flavors from raw fish, rice, and a medley of vegetables, all elegantly drizzled with savory sauces. At a reasonable SEK 189.00, this dish promises both satisfaction and value.
Yet, reviews offer a balanced perspective. While many customers rave about the high-quality sushi and fresh, hearty portions, the ramen has received mixed feedback. Some noted that the ramen lacked the depth and authenticity they expected, with critiques pointing out issues like undercooked components. Nevertheless, the restaurant's friendly service consistently shines through, enhancing the overall experience.
VICHI transforms dining into an experience of warmth and community—a family-run establishment where the chefs' dedication to authentic Japanese cuisine is palpable in every bite. As regular patrons have noted, the value for money is excellent, making it a sought-after destination for both locals and visitors.

“ VICHI is a gem in Västerås. You can enjoy high quality sushi and ramen, made with love and attention to traditional Japanese cuisine, fresh ingredients and beautiful presentations. The restaurant has a friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere and is located in the middle of Västerås. This is a family business, not the usual sushi corporate chain, and you can feel the chef’s passion for real Japanese food at every bite. Prices are low so there is an excellent value for money. We are regular customers and we never got disappointed. Highly recommended! ”
“ 2 stars for the take-away ramen. It is not respectful for calling this ramen…eggs are not cut, the only two beans are not cooked through, stock is sour and not rich at all, noodle is the one you could get at 10kr in ICA, portion is small. The shop usually has nice service but this ramen is very disappointing and hard to reach the bottom line for being called ramen…Their sushi look better though so maybe I was just not lucky to choose ramen…service is good. ”
“ Hearty & satisfying portion! I came 45 min before the lunchtime and so many people were coming - I guess that means something . There’s a nice lunch deal with miso soup. The food (poke bowl with chicken katsu) is fresh and delicious. I just wish the rice was warm :) otherwise very good. ”
“ Good sushi with a lot of effort put on it. The staff is super helpful. ”
“ A great little Sushi place with fresh dishes. I went for a simple and quick early dinner and this place lived up to the reviews. An excellent tasting Rahmen. It is small inside and not much atmosphere but I wasn’t expecting it. All very good. ”
“ Amazing food and wonderful customer service! We came during rush hour so it took a while to get the food (twenty min) but it was totally worth it! My friends and I sat at the bar wich allowed us to watch as the food got made. All in all it was a wonderful experience and I really recomend! ”
“ Nice place for sushi in the city centre. Very high quality ingredients. Not too big portion. They have vegetarian options ”
“ New owner new menu. Interesting concept and it's fun to watch the chef making sushi. Makuro looked a little pale compared to other sushi places I've been. But everything is clean. (Update 2022 August: Did they change owner? Got met with angry faces, said Hi but they looked so unwelcomming so I just turned around and went out again. Rude...) ”
